✨Katiah Byrd ✨
BIO:
Hello! My name is KaTiah "KB" Byrd. I was born and raised in Georgia so yes, you may call me a peach if you like! A sweet funny peach that loves to laugh and motivate others! Almost 3yrs ago my husband and I had California on our minds and thought it would be a great place to live. The change of scenery was exactly what we needed to expand our creative minds. At times I can be an introverted extravert. Something I learned to embrace about myself! (I'm sure others can relate:)) However, collaborating and networking with individuals that are doing what makes them happy is something that I truly enjoy.
I'm an Army veteran with a BS in photography and the creator and owner of a new digital magazine called Growing Vibrations Magazine. You can find it @ www.GrowingVibrationsMagazine.com
Although it's a new business, I'm EXTREMELY excited for what will show up in my life because of it!
Interview Series
1. If you could live out your WILDEST dream with no fear of failure, what would you be doing?
My WILDEST dream is to move to a place like Bali and live in a massive treehouse style home. I would live there but travel the world visiting Monks and spiritualists who would take me under their wings and teach me how to walk on water! Haha Have you ever watched Eat, Pray, Love? Well that would be me but definitely a bit more wilder than the beautiful Julia Roberts. I love the life of zen but I play as hard as I work and meditate! While traveling, I would be taking pictures of some of the most eye-catching models and locations. Then I would place all of those images inside of my magazine and swipe out all of my competition like Cosmopolitan, Essence, and Elle. I would email them and say I love what you have done but hasta la vista baby! haha JK Or ammm I? (In my Dr. Evil Voice. Yes my pinky is up😂.)
2. What is the most memorable, funniest, or craziest thing that has happened to you on your entertainment journey?
My most memorable moment during my entertainment journey is definitely my first paid job as a photographer while in college! I was the student who always said yes to something new. I figured I should get as much experience as possible while having great professors to support me and back me up. Because I rarely said no to anything my teacher chose me to take a job for an event at the Atlanta aquarium. When she said "And it's paid!" of course I was like HECK YEAH! As soon as I said it I got butterflies in my stomach. The day of the event, my stomach was in knots! I thought I was going to freaking hyperventilate on the way there. I called my sister almost in tears telling her how my nerves were a wreck and I didn't think I could pull it together. She helped me get my thoughts back on track and I went to do the job. Getting there, I thought I was going to pee in my pants! HA! Thankfully I didn't. Whew! Anywho, the event was amazing and I got great shots. Before leaving, a guy that worked for Coca-cola gave me his card and said he needed a photographer to produce images for the new artistic coke bottles for a packaging campaign. Another paid job! That gig went well too!
3. Congratulations! You just hit the lottery for 100 million dollars! What do you spend it on?
I just won 100 Million dollars! First thing first, my parents and siblings would definitely get a new home and money in their accounts. Afterwards, HELLO BALI HERE WE COMMMMEEEE!!! That Bali move would include a yacht with see through floors in AT LEAST one part of it. For more information, see #2. lol
4. Do you have any hidden talents or party tricks?
Hidden talent: I love to make beautiful dream catchers that are huge in size. They're usually bigger than me once completed. I mean I'm 5'3. Pretty tall right! haha
Party trick: I'm great at making the most uncomfortable, unrelaxed person relax. And that's without overdoing it. Hey, what can I say? Even while having fun I'm still in zen.
5. What advice would you give to your younger self?
The older you get the more you will realize that mistakes are ok. Being perfect is not possible. Self love and self care will ALWAYS be important. Divine timing and the power of the mind is real. We really do get what we think about. Say no when you feel like it because being a yes man can deplete you over time and may cause some resentment down the road. Last but not least...TAKE THAT LEAP! ON THE OTHER SIDE OF FEAR ARE SOME AMAZING THINGS!
6. Who, in the entertainment industry, do you love that you think more people should know about? Why? Shout them out and spread the love!
Coach Stormy Wellington, Maat Petrova, Joshua Leonard from Team Supreme.
These 3 individuals are highly motivational successful people who encourage others to follow their dreams. All while staying authentically themselves.
An up and coming artist that I'm enjoying watching is Ericka Marie. A.K.A Americka. She's a Fashion Designer based out of New York. I interviewed her for my magazine and I love her passion. I'm really excited to see what the future will bring her!
