✨ Brianne Davis ✨
BIO:
From bringing compelling characters to life on screen as an actor, calling the shots behind the scenes as a director and producer, lending her thoughts and opinions to the podcast airwaves, and even penning her debut literary work, Brianne Davis has emerged in the entertainment industry as a powerhouse female creative in 2021.
Brianne most recently starred on the History Channel's "Six." Additional TV credits include Netflix's "Lucifer," Hulu's "Casual," and HBO's "True Blood." Brianne's first lead role in a film came in 2005 with the blockbuster hit "Jarhead" starring opposite Jake Gyllenhaal. She also starred in the horror film "Prom Night."
Thriving behind the camera, as much as in front, under her production company Give & Take Productions, Brianne has produced three films while also directing "The Night Visitor 2: Heather's Story" and "Deadly Signal."
With over 12 years of recovery as a Sex and Love Addict, Brianne hosts the popular personal journal podcast "Secret Life." The podcast launched in August 2020 and features inspiring true confessions from an eclectic group of guests, unpacking a plethora of taboo topics. Brianne's latest venture in the "Secret Life" brand is her debut novel, "Secret Life of a Hollywood Sex & Love Addict," which instantly hit the best-sellers list on Amazon earlier this year.
She is a renowned sober coach in addiction recovery. She has spoken on over 200 podcasts and television shows, including The Doctors, The Daily Blast, and many more as an advocate for creating awareness of the deadly disease of sex and love addiction. She has also penned several articles on the subject for Cosmopolitan UK, Daily Beast, HuffPost, and The Drill. She is currently in rewrites for the follow-up novel of the Secret Life series and developing it as a tv series.
Brianne currently resides in the Los Angeles area with her husband Mark Gantt and son, Davis.
Interview Series
1. If you could live out your WILDEST dream with no fear of failure, what would you be doing?
I am doing it. Every day, I literally say to myself that I am living my best life. Even when my Ego wants to tell me otherwise. I get to wake up every morning and help other people through my book, our Secret Life podcast, and over 200 interviews I have done. I support my clients with my experience, strength, and hope. And entertain people with my 25 years of acting work. I love what I do and who I have become from my struggles. I love turning my darkness into light. It's a true blessing that I got my recovery 12 years ago in Sex & Love Addicts Anonymous. I base my life on "being of service" to others that are still struggling. I wouldn't change it for anything.
2. What is the most memorable, funniest, or craziest thing that has happened to you on your entertainment journey?
Haha! That's a loaded question. I have so many stories. That's why I put them in my book, Secret Life of a Hollywood Sex & Love Addict. It's a novel based on my recovery but all the wild ride of Hollywood being a working actor for all those years. But I would say the love scene in Jarhead with Jake Gyllenhaal was a crazy shoot. I can just hear Sam Mendes telling us to Fuck like Jackrabbits against the wall. (Read my book to hear more…)
3. Congratulations! You just hit the lottery for 100 million dollars! What do you spend it on?
Probably my dream house! I am such a homebody that all I ever spend my money on is furniture for my house and delicious food. I do love to travel, but home is where my heart is. Lastly, I would probably produce a movie. My husband and I own a production company, Give & Take Productions, and we have made 3 movies together. We love working with each other, but both hate asking for money from other people. That money would definitely take the stress out of getting backers for our projects.
4. Do you have any hidden talents or party tricks?
My party trick would have to be helping others get out of toxic behaviors and relationships. Whenever I go to a party (which is not very often), I tend to give advice to the toxic dating environment of LA. It's breeding with a bunch of undiagnosed Sex & Love Addicts.
5. What advice would you give to your younger self?
None of the outside bullshit really matters. Nothing outside of yourself is ever going to give you your self-worth or self-love. Stop looking for that next best person, place, or thing. They will not complete you.
6. Who, in the entertainment industry, do you love that you think more people should know about? Why? Shout them out and spread the love!
Well, I love Jaime Lee Curtis for her longevity in Hollywood and her strong sobriety in her recovery program. She's fearless in sharing it with the world. She was one of the reasons I broke my anonymity with my sex and love addiction and shared my story last year with the Huff Post. She is such a talented actress and holds AA meetings in her trailer. Would be so honored to meet her and do the same for addicts with my addiction sex and love. There are millions of us around the world. Not just in Hollywood.
